Dawn has experience in bird behavior and ecology, and now works on bird microbes in urban and rural habitats utilizing a variety of molecular and visual methods. She has been examining hemoparasite coinfections in passerines.

Justin has experience in the ecological restoration of acid mine drainages. His research here is split between the Calder Center's Vector Ecology Lab and our lab. He studies the interaction between tick-borne pathogens and energy use throughout the tick's life cycle.
